because i am quite a few problems with the connection it happens at least 4-5 time a week

Your best bet then is to try and figure out what your broadband problem is because until you know you are highly likely to get the same problem, for example if it's a line fault, whoever your isp is.

everytime i ring up they do a line test and they say there's nothing wrong with the line , last time i rung she told me she would up the mb to see if that would improve it and it did for a short while then back to loosing connection again .....i have asked them if it could be the old router i am using (7 years old now) but the say dont know .....i dont see that its fair to make me pay for another more upto date router .
  • Sadly, it appears Sky are being particularly unhelpful but the problem may not necessarily be your router - could be any one of a myriad of issues.

Try posting on here about your broadband problem and you will hopefully get in-depth help on all the various checks you can make:

However, some ISPs may be better at identifying the cause of the fault and may be a bit more active in chasing it up with BT if it's their problem... (Just a thought...)

Very true, could either be the best bet or a sledgehammer to crack the proverbial? Hmm.

Check out that PDF - it should help you isolate whether the problem is with your equipment, your internal wiring, or an external line problem.
