Hi everyone im new to all of this so please be gentle with me.
My husband and i are currently trying to sell our home , were buying one for which we will need a new mortgage for. We can afford the repayments on my husbands wages so i dont need to be working. however we do need both of our incomes for the mortgage application.
my question really is im on additional maternity leave untill 18th of may and im wondering when do mortgage companies do the income check with your employer and when would i be able to leave my work or would it be better to get signed off sick or something untill its all complete??? we couldnt have me back at work as we have no child care options.
with our last mortgage application id left the job before we'd moved in and all went fine then , so im hoping i can work out when its safe to leave.
any ideas anyone???

Tell the lender the truth about what is happening. They will then decide from an overall asessment of the situation whether the mortgage is affordable.
You cannot tell them that you are employed and working i your intention is to leave. There is a specific question on mortgage applications that asks whether there is any reason for your current employment not to continue.0
