I can absolutely recommend these guys and I can assure you that I don't get a kickback or any kind of bonus for recommending them. I have used them four times now:

But don't take my word for it, read the testimonials on FreeIndex for yourself. If you look back far enough, you'll find mine:

Thanks for that. I've no idea how much they weigh as there are two of them with stones in them but i estimated 1g each and it's offering me £23! I'm still umming and awwing about whether to do it though and I can't imagine why. I think it's because DH bought them for me years and years ago when we first got together so I do feel a bit sentimental about giving them away. But on the other hand (no pun intended) I don't even think he remembers buying them for me. But thanks for giving me the recommendation for the site, and I think I will use them.

DH was disgusted that Mazuma mobile will only offer £56. He said it is worth a lot more than that and although I can sell it and have the money, he thinks I need to shop around.

1g seems a little low for a ring. I had a ring of my aunt's that had a stone in. It was too light for my kitchen scales, so I put it in an envelope so no-one would see what it was, took it with an empty envelope to the Post Office, weighed it on their super sensitive scales, then weighed the empty envelope. I then took the weight of the empty envelope away from the weight of the ring in the envelope to get the exact weight of the ring.

Having done all that I then halved what it said to take account of the stone and used that for the estimate. When Gold Traders got the ring, they said the amount of gold was actually MORE than I had estimated (so the stone was less than half the weight of the ring) and in fact I had to call them to confirm my agreement to them paying me MORE which held up my payment being received for 48 hours which was a bit annoying but because I got more dosh in the end that sort of made up for it.

It's always a struggle to sell old rings but right now I would rather have the dosh than have them sitting in a drawer.

As to the mobile, how much are

    http://www.fonebank.com/

offering you for the same phone? I have used them several times and there is also a thread on MSE with various people saying how good they are. In my experience selling Blackberries they have ALWAYS offered more than other sites.

Also, don't forget that going thru Topcashback or Quidco cashback sites will get you around £3 more in cashback.

Phone bank are offering £1 more for the damaged Bold and £6 more for the working Torch. DH reckons if we put it on a facebook selling group we'd get more for it so we might try that. However he did say he would like to hang on to it for a bit to see if he likes his new phone more, and if not, he'll go back to using the Torch and sell the new one instead! I'll probably have saved up enough for my Kindle fire before then!

We've got some franking scales at work, I wonder if they will be more sensitive than my kitchen scales? I'll take them in an envelope and give them a try.

  • I haven't been posting but I have been transferring small amounts each day. My grand total towards my Kindle Fire stands at £54.56 now (including Tesco vouchers). DS1 was making noises about his foot hurting and he thinks he should give athletics a miss tonight (which will save me £6 because if he doesn't go neither will DH or DS2) but I wont hold my breath.

I joined WW online today so hopefully I should 'earn' an extra pound a day for staying within my daily points allowance.

  • As some of you may have seen on the latest weekly e-mail, Carph0ne Warehouse were selling the Kindle Fire for £89.99 which was £40 off what I was going to pay for it in Tesco. Even though I didn't have enough cash, I did have £50 in cash, so I have put it onto my Tesco CC and paid the £50 that I had into my bank account and transferred it across. So I now owe £39.99.
