Dazzle DVD Recorder sound problems

Hi, I have a dazzle DVD recorder and its working great, converting videos to dvds etc, but it will only work with sound on the Instant DVD Recorder software when I am trying to capture the video from the VHS recorder. I have tried numerous other programs, all of them display the video but not the sound. I have reinstalled the Instant DVD Recorder software, and I am baffled on why the sound only appears on this program. Incidentally it used to work on another program InterVideo DVD Creator 2, but now it doesnt! Any ideas anyone?
