Direct Line pain

I'm having big problems with Direct Line and the garage they sent my car to for repairs. Every week since November I have called the garage and they say it will be ready next week...next week...next week...it's now 5 weeks and still no car. Courtesy car cover ran out after 14 days so have had to personally pay for a hire car. Direct Line don't want to know, the buck is being passed from DL to garage and back again. Does anyone have experience of this? or thoughts on who should take responisibility e.g. garage owner or DL? I'm tearing my hair out!

Is it a Japanese car?
What reason are they giving for the delay.0 -
Do you have a hire or curtesy car? Is it costing you anything?
Nothing faster in the road than a hire car, So they say.
I found out once a hired cavalier with less than 200 miles on the clock will do 70mph in 2nd but the engine buzzed and died. ooops.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I blew the engine on a Land Rover credit hire car with 250 miles on the clock.
Having said that it was a typical Land Rover lemon and it was a manufacturing fault0 -
