I am 67 and have an irregular heartbeat for which I take tablets daily, I have no other medical problems.
We have just booked a cruise to China, Japan & South Korea which will take us 20 days to complete.
To ensure that both my partner & I would be able to stay together should one of us become ill, I asked for a cost to cover her on the same basis, she is 59 and does not have any medical problems.
The cost of the cruise is £1800 each.
I only have the one cost as above, I wonder if anyone in the same position knows of anyone who can offer a more competitive price.
Thanks

I had a similar problem with my youngest who has additional medical needs which are very expensive to cover. My friend suggested I pay for the all inclusive bank account from Halifax (free travel insurance as one of the perks) and then declared the condition to them. I did have to pay an additional supplement for her cover, but it was only £70 added to the cost of running the account for the year it still saved me over £300 for a years policy and have the other perks offered on the account. Sounds like an amazing holiday, hope you get sorted xStarting again and working towards our new df life!A very proud forces wife0

Try a quote with All Clear Travel . They focus on people with medical conditions/also older people. I have used them before now. You can (I think) play with the site using a fictional situation to see roughtly how expensive it would be before giving any personal ID. http://www.allcleartravel.co.uk/cgi-bin/lansaweb?procfun+msdweb01+msdw009+alc0 -

To add to my previous entry, look at this All Clear page which is particularly for travellers with medical conditions on cruises

You could ring them and ask why. When i used them, the pre-existing condition was not anything serious and I was only in my early 40's.0 -
I don't suppose you have holiday insurance with your bank account?
I am with LloydsTSB and i'm covered (i think) wherever i go and whatever's wrong with me.0 -
My 65+ year old mate went to Canada for a month last summer to visit relatives. His earlier heart-bypass ensured his insurance premium, at £800, exceeded the cost of his flight, by £300.I am a mortgage broker.
