No longer named driver

I have been a named driver on my fianc!e's (now ex) insurance for the last 3 years (shared car). As he is now ex, I'm getting my own car. Thing is I had 2 scrapes in our joint car as a named driver that I admitted liability for. Will I need to admit this when I apply for new insurance on my own car? Thank you K xx

You declare them because you had the incidents, And he still needs to declare them because it was his policy.

So you both lose for 5 years from the incident date.

i had to declare them for accidents on a hire car - wish i hadn't there would have been no way for them to find this info out. Now that I've declared it - it's on my record. Lesson learned.

But yeah. you definately have to declare that. It would be easily available for them to view.

Except the CUE database maybe. But they would probably have taken your money and not paid out if you claimed.

They would have done because your name would have popped up if you had another accident in the future. Non disclosure would have meant voiding your insurance so you did do the correct thing.
