Any of you (especially recently) opened a Post Office saver?

Figured some of you might've done this to meet the upcoming Halifax £5/month requirements.

Anyway, today received a letter through from PO which has the 6 digit security number on it.
Letter says that i'll need this along with my DOB & my Online User ID to log in.

I've no idea what my online user ID is. Don't ever remember seeing it, getting an email about it - nothing. There's no mention about whether i should have it already (the letter only suggests i should). There's also no mention that it's on its way.

I have the account number & sort code which was given at the end of application.

So at what point does the Online User ID arrive?

I received the user id first, then the security id came a few days later.

But it's something you received in the post then? - not something that was part of the online application (if so - i missed it) or something that went to an email (if so, spam - but have checked & nothing there).

If it's a post thing, fingers crossed it's just come through back to front.

Though with the way some of my eBay purchases have gone, i suspect it'll be up there with the Royal Fail Gods.
  • I, too, received the security number letter first and then the online user ID letter came a couple of days later. (This was about 8 months ago.)

    From the confirmation email: -

    "New customers
If this is your first Post Office® savings account or you don't already use our online banking service:
    -
You will receive your new User ID and 6 digit security number (separately) in the post within 4 business days after we have received your deposit."

User ID came today. Letter said you'll soon be receiving your 6 digit code (so sent back to front then). All can be forgiven - it was the Xmas post i suppose.

    No confirmation email received throughout.
