Financial Advice for a complicated situation

I wonder if there is anyone that can help me with this problem.
I am a mature student and I have applied for colleges/universities in England. I need to apply for financial help but I am not sure who to apply to. I am a UK citizen, I was born in London and lived there for almost two decades, going to school there and even working there but I am currently living in Ireland and have done for 10 years.
When I was looking at the application forms for UK financial support for someone who is living in the EU, I noticed some terms:
"Do not complete these forms if you were born or ever lived in the UK" which is fair enough but I was also informed I couldn't fill out the financial support for UK residents as I do not reside in the UK and haven't for those 10 years.
If I get a college/university place I will be moving back to the UK permanently but I am a little lost, what forms should I look into completing? Who should I contact for more help? If anyone can advise me on something, I would be most grateful.
