Hi everyone- need some help with my google mail-
after some tribulation i had to move my domain name- which i paid someone to help with in july last year at the same time my connected email address was switched to gmail- unfortunately the company i moved to 'barracuda; has gone bust and so i have now moved to weebly- the problem I have is that since moving the domain to weebly the e-mail address no longer recieves mail- i think this has something to do with an mx record but i have checked where my domain was bought from and there is nothing in the mx record.
i have no idea how to sort out this situation & would appreciate any advice that people can offer.

Which registrar is your domain with? I know a few (Heartinternet.co.uk is one I'm with) that have "1 click" set up of domain to Gmail/Gapps settings in their control panel for managing your email.

If you open a command line window and type

    nslookup -type=mx domainname.com 8.8.8.8

It will tell you where the MX is pointing, for example MSE:

    C:\>nslookup -type=mx moneysavingexpert.com 8.8.8.8
    Server: google-public-dns-a.google.com
    Address: 8.8.8.8

    Non-authoritative answer:
    moneysavingexpert.com MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = service85.mimecast.
    com
    moneysavingexpert.com MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = service86.mimecast.
    com
    moneysavingexpert.com MX preference = 20, mail exchanger = mail3.moneysavingexpert.com
    moneysavingexpert.com MX preference = 30, mail exchanger = mail.moneysavingexpert.com

In this example, there are 4 servers, Mimecast are the first two choices, if they don't work (server down, etc) it shoult try the two servers at MSE towers.

Your servers should be somewhere in the google domain per tronator's link.

It always helps to include such informations in your original questions.

You need to change the MX record of your domain(s) to "ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM." and if you wish additional ones found here

    http://support.google.com/a/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=174125

But make sure everything is set up properly on Google's side or your emails will get rejected from their email servers. If it worked before and you didn't change anything in your Google account, you should be fine.

ok where would i type the command line-

Windows Key +R together, then type CMD and enter.

Having run the NS Lookup on essexcometsyfc.co.uk, I can see that there isn't an MX record set up which concurs with the missing record at your host.

AAAA is IPv6; I wouldn't have thought you would need one.

Take a look at this; you may need to submit a support ticket to Weebly:

Thank you so much i have contacted weebly so fingers crossed i can get this sorted. the email was originally part of microsoft live free small business service which shut down- someone was paid to move the site & email but not entirely sure how they moved the mail part.
