I have a column of cells each containing hours and minutes (HH:MM). I need to total these so I get the cumulative hours:minutes. This works OK if the total hours is less than 23 hrs 59 minutes. Over that it is showing the result as a time.
For example, if the column has cells containing the values:
12:30
10:45
It correctly shows a total of 23:15, but:
12:30
10:45
12:00
The total should be 35:15 but it's showing as 11:15 (12 hours after 23:15)
I'm guessing it's something to do with the formatting of the 'total' cell?

Format to [h]:mm should do what you want0

It's stripped the number of days off.
dd:hh:mm will show 1:11:15
[h]:mm will show 35:150 -
Hi,
in your example,
12:30
10:45
12:00
in A4 type =sum(a1:a3) and enter, you might have to format cells A1/2/3 to time.0 -
