Travelling from Norwich to Hammersmith Apollo - options?

Four of us are going to a concert at Hammersmith Apollo on May 6th and I'm exploring the various travel options that might be open to me. I'll be travelling from Norwich. Unfortunately the train from Norwich is out of the question I think, as the last train leaves Liverpool Street at 23:30 which doesn't really leave enough leeway if the concert finishes after 10pm, then having to dash from Hammersmith to Liverpool Street in time for the last train! Driving and parking somewhere is an option and then perhaps getting a tube or train into London from a station where the trains do run until a reasonable hour!

So just wondered if anybody has any suggestions as to the best place to drive to to do this and the best place to park etc (safer the better).

Many thanks

I constantly have this problem as the last train back to my home town out of Waterloo is 9.30 pm and so my only option is to drive 50 miles to a station with a later service.

The train services from Hammersmith are frequent and the station is not far from the venue.

Another alternative would be to see if National Express run a coach to Norwich which leaves late enough for you.

I went to see Billy Connolly at Hammersmith Apollo a few years ago, and we drove and parked at the Tescos supermarket across the road (its was an underground car park) - which at the time - had an arrangement with the theatre for parking. I think we paid about £5 to park, and we had to show our theatre tickets.

You may want to ring Hammersmith Apollo and check to see if this arrangement is still in place. Loads cheaper than train fares, and really easy to get to - just off the M4/A4

  • When going to a gig in London myself and my Boyfriend always park at Newbury Park tube station and then tube it in. It costs £2 to park and is quicker for us to get to Hammersmith on the tube than is to drive there.

Can anyone also tell me if any of these car parks are likely to have spaces mid-afternoon on a Friday?

    Thanks
