Daisy - i remember that prog too.
However, Aveda is only available in a few places. QVC do if you ring them but a few big dept stores sell it.
Don't have a lush near me.0 -
My hair is also waist length and I'm very lucky to be able to go a week before it starts to look or feel like it needs washing ... could push it to 2 weeks if I tie it up, but by then my scalp is starting to itch and it feels a bit lank.
When I used to have it much shorter I washed it daily and it was never in as good condition as it is now (although it needs a damn good trim now as it's about a year since it saw a hairdresser)

I can't stand it when my hair gets all greasy, i have my hair dow for a couple of days and tie it up for the next but then i have to wash it beacsue it drives me mad.
Oh handy hint, if your in a rush and have nice greasy hair, put some talc in it and make sure you brush it through and it will look nice and just washed, unless you smell it !!0 -
I have found my hair has got drier as I have got older and I am a recent convert to REDKEN. It is lovely and you need the tiniest amount.
Like lots of these things it works out cheaper if you buy huge bottles and as it is American I got some in the USA much cheaper and I doubt I will need anything else for at least a year!0 -
I haven't replaced my usual shampoo or conditioner yet, but I make my own body scrubs out of olive oil and almond oil with sea salt, ground coffee or brown sugar and my own face scrub out of ground oats, all with essential oils added. I still use Neutrogena on my face every day, but also use the scrub a couple of times a week, and I can't even bring myself to use shop bought body washes now. When I do I don't feel properly clean, and feel all "chemically."0

As a nipper in the 60's I remember my Mother having a beehive that was taken down and washed at the hairdressers every 6-8 weeks. Apparently it is only just settling in for the first month or so:eek: They had to be washed in a nasty chemical that would remove 60 days of Pompadour Hairspray.:eek:Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0

LOL got some good suggestions here guys, but some of the suggestions on here, are hardly moneysaving and liable to break the weekly budget quite easily.
*says she who scurries off to find her best Chanel lipgloss*
I used to use Aveda Curessence and Aveda Detoxifyer, but after a lot of trial and error i am now using Tesco Healthy Skin cream bath, on both my body and hair and its brilliant.
I must say though, that coal tar soap is very good.

Oh I've just remembered I meant to say that a certain MSE person also recommended olive oil for your hair and I have found it brilliant for a very occassional use. I put it on dry hair, especially the ends, and leave it for a while, then wash it out, leaving much softer hair.0

Someone I worked with did the olive oil in the hair thing. I only found out as her hair looked so shiny and in great condition.
She said that she went with like that to bed and then rinsed it out. It made her hair shine like it does on the commericals and made the colour look so much lighter and brighter.
Think I might have a go next week after I have been shopping to get some cheap olive oil. Must remember not to the stuff with chilli's in it
