I read (Kindle) books on my Ipod 4G and find it OK - just more page turning. Better on a larger screen though.

    Hi All,

I'm looking for the following 3 items:

    Sat Nav system.
    Kindle.
Mobile Phone (Access to Internet essential)

What does everyone recommend, unfortunately I'm a little out of date on modern technology at the moment.
Depending how much reading you do, I'd recommend a Kindle for the reading - the battery lasts for yonks. If its just for the odd hour or two, then a phone (with a large-ish screen) or a tablet (ipad or android) will work fine.

For the satnav, just use whatever phone you buy!
  • I guess I want to do more reading than I've been doing as of late, so perhaps an actual Kindle is the route to take? Excuse my ignorance but are Kindles and Tablets the same thing?

I think I'm going to opt for the Samsung Galaxy S3 as it has a Sat Nav system, Internet access and is less expensive than the Iphone.

A Kindle is a (n electronic) book reader - nothing more*. A Tablet is essentially a handheld, touchscreen computer.

    * Unless you mean the Kindle Fire / FireHD, in which case these are Tablets.

A kindle is easier to read in my experience - the eInk technology is easy on the eye.

But despite the name, a kindle fire is a tablet
  • Done some shopping around today and the best price I can find is £429.25 for the Samsung Galaxy S3, a little out of my price range. I should say that this was for the fully Galaxy and not the mini version.
