PPI claim. myself or company for this situation

Hi,
I wanted to ask this question as a wasnt sure what the best option is for me.
The personal loan i had was years ago, i cant even remember the year! or have any paperwork. i think it was around 6 or 7 years ago.
I would not have a problem in doing this myself like i have done with the bank charges, however, is it worth using a company to claim it back for me? im not saying they would have a greater chance of sucess than me but may be worth the hassle?
Does anyone know how much these companies charge? if it works out giving them alot of money i may opt to do it myself.
The loan was for 8k over 3 years. Cant remember the APR.
Any other info you think might be useful, please let me know.
Thanks

Typical charges seem to be 25% to 40% of any refund you get.
It won't save you any time or effort, because the claims company will ask for the same information that you would use in your complaint. So you will end up doing the work anyway. Basically, you would be paying that money just to have a third party post your complaint form for you.
To make the complaint, the key point you need is the reason why you feel it was missold. Simply having PPI is not grounds for a complaint or refund.0
