My rent has gone up i took the letter to the council who informed me i was getting the maximum i could but scanned the letter anyway.
then a few days after i get a letter asking me to inform them what if anything the landlord has done to the property with regard to rent increase. Why do they want to know that if they are not going to allow meany more money?
They said i had one month from the date of the letter to supply information but it wasnt compulsory too.
Confused?

Because a bigger family may rent the property after you, or your circs may change, or they are anticipating a change in LHA, or an application for DHP.
I would have thought that YOU would have asked the LL to justify the increase already.0 -
i dont think they have to do they?
i did ask them to keep the rent as it was.:footie:0 -

it seems normal to increase the rent now and again but yes i may ask.
they probably think thats what they can get for it.:footie:0 -
If the council is paying your rent they have every right to question an increase in rent. Why shouldnt they ?0

“Don’t have children if you can’t afford them” is the “Let them eat cake” of the 21st century. It doesn’t matter how children got here, they need and deserve to be fed.0
