Natwest Mortgage PPI Claim

Hi
I wondered if anyone could help. I had never really considered claiming on my PPI for my mortgage on the basis that it had been mis-sold, but as my husband recently lost his job and having unsuccessfully tried to claim on it, I am wondering if we may have a case.
I cannot remember taking out the insurance , but apparently it was taken out in 1993 when we moved house and we had a mortgage with Natwest, we later changed that to another lender.
I contacted Natwest after they refused our unemployment claim and asked for details of how the insurance came about, but they state that they no longer have details as the policy is more than 7 years old. They have sent me details of premiums we have paid since July 2001 when they state that the insurance was transferred to them. Apparently previous to that it was with Royal Sun Alliance who are now known as First Assist, how it then came to be transferred to Natwest I am not really sure.
Many thanks.

You havent given any reasons for thinking it was mis-sold. So, its difficult to comment without knowing that.
We do know it was set up correctly as monthly premium. So, that eliminates the main complaint area with MPPI.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
