they won't refund ticket costs to cancelled show!

Options
Help please!
I booked tickets online via SEE tickets to a show that has now been cancelled-not postponed. Following the cancellation email, I sent back the tickets as requested to get a refund. The company says they have not received them and as I cant provide proof I have sent them back (bearing in mind they are perfectly useless anyway since show was cancelled) and their terms and conditions state I should have sent them by registered post (which now that I checked they do), I will not get a refund for an event that never happened!
Please tell me there's something i can do, why should they get to keep my money?! I told them I can provide a copy of the tickets, and they have all my info in their system still, but they just sent me a fairly rude message back.

How did you pay for them?

By visa debit card. It was under 100 though.

No it wasn't. But I suspect that company is just trying to scam everyone who has bought tickets to cancelled show with them. At this point Im pretty sure theyre just claiming not to get the tickets to keep the money to everyone who doesn't send them back by registered mail.

If you paid by visa debit card, it is worth asking your bank to action a chargeback on the basis that the merchant is in breach of contract and has failed/refused to give any consideration for the payment or to refund the money.

Thanks Daisy, Ive just sent a strongly worded letter with proof of purchase to the complaints manager guy. If I dont get a positive reply to that, I'll follow your advice.

And if that doesn't work, write a letter before action before taking them to the small claims court.

It seems very strange they needed the tickets back to a cancelled show, it's not like you could use them for anything else.
