Stupid potato questions

Hiya
I would say yes as everytime you cover almost all the growth (Earthing up) another lot of roots will grow from the main stem which means more tats
I always leave a couple of inches at the top uncovered so they can continue towards the sun. HTH

I would be a bit careful of earthing up too enthusiastically, if you continually bury the new growth the plant will not be able to photosynthesise enough to produce the sugars needed to make the potatoes. If you are continually earthing up all/nearly all of the growth the plant is relying on the sugars in the original seed potato to grow and these are obviously limited due to its small size. You could end up with poor growth and a poor crop.0
