Cheap hotels in London?

I'm off to London on the 25th January til the 27th January. I keep seeing sales for hotel rooms being advertised but have yet to find the rooms for both nights under £100! I have found a travelodge in Waterloo for about £130. Just wondered if anyone knew of anywhere cheaper!!!!

  • One train stop from Waterloo there's a Travelodge at Clapham Junction (Battersea) where the price is probably cheaper.
  • There's a similar thread almost every week so its worth either scrolling down or doing a search on 'london hotels' in the forum

What's your arrival and departure point, and where do you need to be when you're there?

There's little point in a cheap hotel in Hammersmith if all you want to do is attend a function at the Excel centre...... because you'll end up spending the saving on travelling to and fro.
  • Travel Lodge Docklands is a good one stay at - and its got a DLR stop just a few minutes walk from it.

If you're ex-forces, police, fire brigade or civil service you'd be entitled to stay at the Union Jack Club (Waterloo) or Victory Services Club (Marble Arch). Both are under £40 a night and both are round about 3 star standard.
  • We are going to Wembley arena but are making a long weekend out of it and want to stay in central London so we have easy access to all the tourist sights! Was just planning on getting a tube out to Wembley and back on the Saturday night!
  • I signed up for a Free trial to Sleepcard, they don't have a great many hotels in London but it could end up saving you 15% a night. I booked a hotel for end of January in the lakes for a long weekend. £60 a night and I got it for £51 quid a night. Might be worth looking into... hope this helps. I'm a newbie so can't post you the link but just google it and it should come up. :)

There are plenty of Central London Travelodges currently showing up as £25 for the friday night (although these are rooms available as at 6am this morning, so some may have now gone), but with higher prices for the Saturday (as is usual - they very rarely have sale prices for Saturdays).

But there are still a few that will give you under a £100 in total over the two nights -

    e.g. London Central City road £25 + £67 = £92
    London Liverpool Street £25 + £72 = £97
    London Central aldgate East £25 + £68 = £93
    London Farringdon £25 + £64 = £89

I don't know what these are all like, other than the first, which is OK, so check on trip advisor or similar
  • Quite a few hotels under £50 per night on this 2 for 1 Holiday Inn offer http://www.greenroom.co.uk/rac/

Good call - especially as you get free breakfast with many of them. The London - Park Royal, in particular, is available for £37.50 a night on the dates the OP wants, including free breakfast, and rates 4.9 out of 5.0 in the reviews.

One thing to bear in mind with the Holiday Inn 2 for 1 links, which I know has casued some confusion in the past, is that the "price per night" quoted is the average over the two nights incuding the free night - so in the above example, it would be £75 for the two nights.
