Halifax Clarity snags for overseas use

1. Missing local currency and exchange rate in the online statement already reported elsewhere in the forum. These items would presumably show on the printed statement.
But if you are staying overseas for an extended period ...
2. Going paperless is not an option, as the bank insists on communication by post. You will miss any important matter that the bank raises (unless someone at home can open your letters).

Completely agree with point 1. Not really bothered about point 2 as I don't want to switch to paperless statements for anything, but can see why it would be an annoyance to some.
Halifax's online banking (for current accs and cards) leaves a lot to be desired when compared to others such as NatWest/RBS, Nationwide or even Santander, but it's functional I suppose.0
