When i was a student

My flatmate and I used to throw BYOB dinner parties. If you can cook then its a great way to save money. Everyone brings a bottle of whatever and you cook a fabulous meal. We used to do themes, like mexican food and everyone brings tequila or french food and everyone brings wine. You don't have to spend much on food if you shop like an MSE and if you take turn about with your friends then if there is any drink left over you can take that along to your next dinner party.

I went to a summer school in the states last year. Student accommodation was in a series of terraced houses around three sides of a square. We'd regularly get together and cook 'family style' meals together - we reckoned that pooling the contents of 3 impoverished student fridges gave us more options :rotfl:
