In a spendy mood and just wanting something nom nom nice. Anyhow only spends I have done is myself and children had dentist today so I used my all day saver to best advantage and finally went to collect my 40th birthday (back at beginning of December) gift from old job, a nice new £40 dress from Oasis and £20 in card. Bought some loo roll at 99p visited my mother and ate some of her baking then came home and have scoffed the last of the ginger and chocolate cookies I made for the winter party I went to on Saturday. My only cost for attending the party was the price of the cookies I made.

I think at the moment the problem is I feel bored and am doing bordom eating. I hate shopping so to help with the spending urge I did a £72 shop at Appr*ved Foods so killed two birds with one stone there and bought goodies for February's pack up, as well as some standard cupboard foods.

I know what the cause of the spendy and feel good treat mood is. Its because I am down due to the fact I had hoped to start making a decent indent on debts this month with the £500 left over from my wages that I should have had, instead £484.65 of it is going on paying my son's horrid phone bill off. And just bare minimums are going to have to be paid on my debts.

Well due to the horrid phone bill I had to pay, I was unable to pay more than my minimum debt payments for January. Or though I do not get paid til near the end of the month, I am hoping to get extra payments made, though that all depends on my over time as I need to get gutting fixed which I have been quoted at £470.

  • My energy bill has jumped by £72 per month, so I think it is definitely time to switch. So I have decided to leave one of the big 6 and go for a smaller company that has emerged and used a percentage of green power for a fixed term contract.

  • Skint and with the rise in my energy bill, think I need real cheap shopping, so bought a sack of spuds £8 including the delivery, £10 meat deal (4 burgers separated and frozen in individual bags, 8 sausages bagged into 2's, 400g mince divided into 4 portions, 1/2 chicken cut into two portions and a pack of belly pork) and 30 eggs for £1.79m so just short of £20 and should roughly last 2 weeks or so for myself and DS. Admittedly I get paid on Tuesday but only plan on buying bread and milk & cereal, possibly cheese.

My 2 sweet potatoes and 1/2 a butternut squash was starting to go mouldy, so cut off the bad and soft bits, and found a simple stew idea for them online, and just added a handful of porridge oats and some dumplings to it and managed to make 3 portions to have at work plus a portion for my lunch this afternoon, which I had with the rest of the batter mix left over from making toad in hole with 4 of the sausages for DS and DD today. Amazingly pancakes and spicy stew go together really well.

1st of March and I now have my new energy agreement which is £120 a month less than Np*wer wanted to charge me, my switch date is 26 March. I am also switching phone & Broadband to Talk T*lk from Sky saving myself £10 per month, that switch will happen on the 10th March. You could say I am springing into financial action ready for spring.

Called sky who tried to offer me a lower sky pitch which since I can not get it as standard anyhow I wasn't bothered, about £3cheaper than what I am switching to. Anyway given them my two weeks notice but accept the fact that both phone and broadband could go off at anytime during the next 14 days, so even from today if they so desire.

I am switching from Np*wer to another firm and suddenly they are offering to drop my DD by the £70 odd they have just put it up by, I do not think so, other company is still cheaper and uses more green energy.

Anyhow, jsut been looking at largest CC and have decided I shall make minimum payment each month PLUS make a second payment of interest amount on top, so this month I need to pay an extra £55, to CC 1 £31.28 to CC2. Have paid 10% of Graduate O/D.

my plan to make second payments on top of my CC's hasn't happened yet. Even with doing 8 days over time a month I am just scrapping by.even though my balance on CC1 is now slightly lower my payments with them keep going up? this has me truly confused and more than ever wanting a chance to make extra payments to them. Also discovered I had a recurring payment of £30 coming out from it. I now have the recurring payment stopped at least. The only debt that seems to be coming down at all is my Graduate O/D which is now at £605.87 once latest payment clears.
