there is no sata 1,2,3 cables, there is just a sata cable

Sata is backwardly compatible. would be best to have a sata iii on a sata iii controller, but i run in the past sata iii drives in a sata i controller - just works at the speed of the slowest item.

buy a sata cable with a latch if you are worried about that the connector will shake free, or cockroaches will pull it out.

While the interface on your drive is sata iii, sustained data matching sata iii transfer of a drive like that is extremely dubious and may not even be up to sata ii standards, hence ssd for sata iii
