Jessie J Concert

Hi I bought my daughter some Jessie J concert tickets for March, I got saturday ones so that I knew she would be able to go on that day, but recently I got an email saying that the tour has been postponed due to the fact that she hasnt finished her album, our March saturday tickets are now October tuesday tickets, my daughter cant go on that date, I feel so angry, if she was ill then fair enough but just because shes not finished her album is such a lame excuse, apparantly if we had taken an insurance out we could get our money back but we didnt so thats it, we can sell them but why should we get the hassle grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • You should be able to get a refund, if you originally purchased the ticket from a reputable seller (ticketmaster, seetickets, ticketline etc). Who told you you couldn't get a refund because you didn't have insurance?

Hi, I bought them off Seatwave, it was them that told me , this is part of the email
'If you purchased TicketCover™premium and are unable to attend the rescheduled concert you can to apply for a refund for the cost of your ticket.'
'If you are unable to attend the rescheduled concert and did not purchase TicketCover™premium, please list your tickets for sale on Seatwave'

My daughter had tickets for March and she has had a refund. Was offered October but on principle got her money back. i think its wrong for ther concert to be cancelled. She must have known she was doing an album. maybe she should have put the album on hold?

Seatwave is a ticket resale site and just acts as a market place for people who either do not want or cannot use their tickets to re-sell them. A glorified ebay!

While you may have found the tickets on and paid Seatwave, you will not have bought your ticket from them, but from the ticket holder. Seatwave are not, so far as I can see, an "official" seller of event tickets but just a vehicle for people to sell unwanted tickets at a price they feel can be achieved. To all intents and purposes it is an online touting arrangement!

Your best bet is to try and re-sell and get your money back that way if your daughter cannot go. Good luck.

BTW, why did you use this site rather that the events official ticket seller(s)?

She booked them on ticket master.Didnt have insurance, but had no problem getting a refund....By the way, I do think its disgusting what jessie j has done and it will serve her right if she loses a lot of fans over it..I beleive it was a sellout as well. She should have put her fans first..On twitter somebody was coming from abroad and had bought tickets and paid over £1000 for flights, and they are non refundable flights. Ouch..

Ok thanks for that, to be honest I cant remember why I bought them from Seatwave, I think maybe it was because I couldnt get the date I wanted anywhere else. Lesson learnt I suppose, thank you for your reply.

I would suggest you can take this further, that their terms are unfair and hence unlawful. You purchased tickets for a show on a specified date - if you purchased a flight for a specified date the airline cannot then turn round and say you can't fly until six months later!

It is up to you how far you want to take it, but I'd be threatening small claims, either for the cost of the tickets, or if you do resell, any loss incurred as a result.
