Tesco Petrol Price Difference between Stores

I've sent this email to CS at Tesco.
Hi,
Please could explain why the Tesco Extra store at Castle Lane, Bournemouth is charging 5% more a litre than all the other local TESCO stores (Branksome, Tower Park and Ferndown). I can't possibly see any justification for the higher price at Castle Lane. Please could you explain.
Many thanks
Jonathan Small
Also be careful as they had an 'IT' problem which meant the tills weren't printing the 5p off a litre vouchers. I had to ask for it at the CS desk. Wonder how many people have missed out?

Thank you for your email.
Thank you for contacting us regarding our fuel pricing policy. Like all
other retailers, we do not charge the same prices at all our filling
stations, as prices vary from region to region throughout the whole country.
We always aim to match fuel prices in any local area, and for a particular
special occasion or local event, we regularly reduce prices within the
vicinity. I would also stress that we are usually one of the last retailers
to increase fuel prices when a general market price increase takes place.
The Monopolies and Mergers Commission invited us to give evidence when fuel
pricing was being investigated and their report stated that retailers'
trading policies were not against the public interest.
We will continue to offer our customers the best prices possible in any
given location. However if you know of any filling station, within a
three-mile radius of any of our stores, offering cheaper prices, please
contact your local store so that we can rectify the situation when our next
survey is carried out.
I trust this information has reassured you of our commitment to our
customers.

Funny the distance between the 2 stores is 4.5 miles. I need to find another petrol station between the 2 which price matches.0 -

totally agree, small - is very annoying. i try my best to wait til I'm passing branksome or tower park, or am in ferndown.
in my experience there isn't another garage nearby that beats tesco castle lane eitherMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
petrol is so expensive down here >:(
when i went to london recently it was much cheaper. I dont go over to tower patk or ferndown hardly ever. so always have to pay for it at castle lane.
Also what annoys me round here is at sainsburys i got the petrol voucher but there is no sainsburys petrol station round here. I post them in the end to my mum in london ???0 -
i know divadee, very annoying - though if you have the voucher maybe worth making an occasional trip to ferndown sainsburys as usually the cheapest petrol around.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0
