well i straighted it its abit better but downside the gears are doing what they post to do now they take ages to change or i after change by 2 gears then click down

so i tryed bending it abit to the right and see how it goes today if same then i just going to return it because i use it to work 8miles and its a pain if gears play up

i will look at a derailleur guard

ive had decent brand bikes untill i couldnt aford a good one anymre and never had issues with derailleur

also i after admit the cheap bikes suspension on the front are total rubbish they well soft hit a small bump and it goes bang very annoying

this is first bike i brought from argos i non stop problems
i found the front caliper disc as seized so i cant adjust the pads on one side
and slight play in rear wheel and now gears are playing up and suspension is bad

im wishing i brought second hand
  • You ride 8miles to work on a cheap(possibly even full) suspension bike bought from Argos....when will people ever learn. As previously stated bikes need setting up correctly and a build it yourself is just asking for trouble if you haven't done it before.

You could take it to a bike shop to have it services and they will probably charge around the £40 mark, but in all honesty it will be a money pit. If your not happy with it and can't adjust it any better, you would be much better off cutting your losses and buying a different, but this time much more suitable bike.

That being said, to anybody who knows anything about bikes this is a simple problem with the initial set up and maintenance, I would doubt an employee of Argos would know this. You may get away with trying for a refund by saying it is faulty (this is a long shot and probably not worth the hassle and certainly something which you are not entitled too)

Hope something there might be of use to you
