Insurance quote can this be correct?

My mate had rung to ask about an accident he had , as he was renewing his insurance.
The thing is the incident he was reffering to was well over 10 years ago more like 14-18yrs ago.
Are companies starting to ask for ridiculous history now?

    assuming you are talking about motor insurance then the norm is to want to know about accidents etc in the last 3 or 5 years.

    Yes it is motor insurance, and I agree, usually it is 5 years (but they have that recorded anyway .
    I'd be dammed to remember my full driving history :o
