Internet connection for BBC iPlayer through TV

Help please :)

My TV is a Philips (32pfl5405h) with a USB port

My Humax Foxsat HDR has given me BBC iPlayer and ITV Player on the TV through an ethernet cable.

I've a Virgin Superhub wifi router for my laptop and also a Virgin Netgear WiFi USB adaptor which used to be plugged into my now defunct pc.

I really don't know what the USB port on the TV is for. Can I do away with the ethernet cable and plug this WiFi stick into the TV to enable me to access these catch up channels?

Many thanks
I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
"this television even has three HDMi sockets and a USB 2.0 port for enjoying multimedia content such as MP3 music and JPEG photos."

So no you can't plug the Wi-Fi adapter into the USB port and use it for Iplayer or other similar downloads .
