Hi,

I have xp on my pc and use McAfee 2007 security suite.

On Sat 21.4 I carried out a routine scan resulting in the following info.

Detection Type: Trojan.
Detection Name: Generic Script.
File Name: C:\Documents and settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Windows Update.hta

This was quarantined. I then ran a system restore to 6/4/07, the date of my previous scan that was clear.

McAfee then advised I reinstall their virus scan so I uninstalled ALL mcAfee and re installed it. I then carried out a scan which was clear.

Yesterday I scanned again and the trojan is back and once again McAfee has quarantined it.

I have never been in this situation before and would like to know if quarantined means it is safe or fixed or how can I remove it from my pc if McAfee don't ??

Regards, dog1.
