Reclaiming bank charges

It seems that I can obtain details of every questionable charges deducted by my bank by accessing my bank statements going back 3 years. I know for sure that there were no such charges beyond this period. If I am able to obtain these details on-line through internet banking, is it still necessary for me to request these from my bank or can I go straight to the next stage in the process by demanding repayment of these charges? If so, should I write to my branch or to the head office?

That's what I did. My charges only go back 2.5 years (since we moved) as I know that I never had a single charge before then.
I just used my online statements and listed the charges in a letter.I am a Travel Agent My company’s ATOL/ABTA numbers are E7760/3970. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. Atol numbers can be checked with the Civil Aviation Authority. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.0 -
Thanks hula-hoops, that's helpful because I see no point in asking the bank for information I already have access to. Given this, should I then write direct to by branch demanding a refund of all charges?0
