HELP!!!changed my address without my concern

I have recently been to the bank and found my address have been changed without my concern,after a complaint procedure, i was told that it was me who asked to change the address at a date ,when i never even been to the bank,and they advised me go to financial ombudsman service.
As i am a foreign national i don't know much about British law,
but iam pretty sure it is against data protection act.
THOUGH I AM NOT KEENLY INTERESTED IN SUING THE BANK,I WANT TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE BAD RESPONSE.
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED......
