Why so far away

I live on the south coast and have today received the Notice of Issue having filled in the 'take them to court page' and paid my £80. My problem is that the claim is to be heard in the Northampton County Court which is no where near to where I live, why is it so far away and will I have to attend. Can someone help with an answer.
