My Charity Campaign - A New Year's Resolution

Hello everyone,
Over the Christmas break I decided that instead of opting for a clich!d new year's resolution such as "I'm going to eat more healthily" or "I'm going to exercise more" or "I'm going to save more money" which often fall by the wayside after a few weeks, I decided that in 2013 I would start fundraising for charity. Having joined a gym a few months back, it's now got to the point that aside from keeping in shape, I need something else to motivate me.
Now mountainous treks and long distance runs are a bit alien to me - I have little experience in events such as these but in order to raise funds for charity I know I will have to do my bit and put the work in.
I'm starting the year with a 'safe' 10k run in aid of the Alzheimer's Society as well as partaking in the not so strenuous Dryathlon challenge in aid of Cancer Research UK which is basically a glorified way of saying I'm not touching alcohol for a whole month.
Although relatively low key in comparison to a marathon or a triathlon, these challenges will hopefully act as a launchpad for further endeavours and gradually with hard work, I'll up the stakes to greater ones.
In the meantime I'd like to make you aware of my current JustGiving pages here and here. I understand money can be tight especially in January but donations, however small will be greatly appreciated.
I will also be promoting on Facebook and Twitter. If you would like to follow my progress on either, just click here and here. Periodic updates will also me added here on MSE.
To ensure on-going success, more so than donations, I crucially need exposure. So can I ask that you take a few minutes of your time to spread the word across the MSE community as well as to your family and friends.
Thank you.

Can anyone help me with suggestions on the best places to go (by that I generally mean websites) to find lists of charity events? For my ongoing campaign, I would ideally like to take part in a varied range of challenges - a mixture of physical endurance, fun and novelty. Also some ideas for fund raising off my own back would be good.0
