If you want some help then I suggest that you are careful with the way you word your replies. Being rude does not endear you to anyone. Help here is given freely and sometimes people come across as a bit 'to the point'. Please do not respond with frustrated impoliteness.
I agree with above. You asked a question, you got an answer. Just because you didnt like doesnt mean you should be rude. A 200 mile round trip on a signing on day might be "necessary" for you but you took the risk. You knew the concequences and now you have to deal with them.Saving money like a trouper...0 -
jobcentre plus contract

Hi
Firstly, there is an appeal process - use it.
Secondly, you need to apply promptly for hardship payments (60 percent of JSA).
Finally, if you also claim LHA opr CTB, make sure that you contact them immediately and ensure that your claims are continued; the job centres seem to enjoy advising them that the JSA has been sanctioned and mucking up the LHA/CTB claims as well.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Thank you to those who read and responded with advice and guidance. You are the reason I came here.
After a very long set of 4 phone calls I am now going to be paid! it took them 30 mins to call me back with the decision! WOW!
and for anyone who suffers similar circumstances...
The official response on my journey was that I did not make adequate provisions to ensure I had enough time to attend my interview. Namely the distance and the time I allowed for my journey. My Interview was at 2pm and my expected arrival time in that district was 1.30pm. They said that a 30 min leeway was inadequate and that even if my motorbike had not broken down I may not have made my appointment.
They also stated that I should have phoned. Not owning a mobile phone does not put me in breach of my contract and I broke down in a rural area 3.5 miles from the nearest phonebox. As my motorbike is a high risk vehicle leaving it unattended in a rural area would breach my insurance/ leave me stranded and thus I could not leave my vehicle to use a payphone.
I simply phoned and explained that I was seeking legal advice regarding expenses incurred due to this sanction. (overdraft charges etc etc) they told me I would have to tell them in writing. I went on to explain the situation again. Its worth noting that at the start of the call I asked if the person minded me recording the call. they said yes. I said please transfer me to someone who does not mind. I got transfered and told them i was recording the call.
after some time it was suggested that i might want to check the case notes and see if all data was correct.
so I gave them the information (baring i nmind that this needs to be given in writing and be done with an advisor present)
i was phoned back by an office in preston stating that the decision had been made in my favour.
Justice!!!!
and on a side note..
utterly corrupt and void of moral and ethical reason.
those above that talk from your anuses. (yes you have more than 1)

the air temp was 2'c and falling and the jobcentre was my last thought
Was it a mobile issue or that you couldn't be bothered? If you don't want to be penalised again, make sure you make the jobcentre always your first thought.0 -
Please if anyone can actually help with advice or information rather than just opening some random orifice that would be greatly appreciated.
Having read this, I am delighted you've been sanctioned. Your excuses are just that - excuses. You are asked to do very little to be given money - signing on is one of those tasks. You failed and therefore you've been sanctioned.
I suggest you increase your efforts to find a job - or sell the motorbike.
Oh - and I think you are a liar.0 -
Is it so far fetched though? If the jobcentre or whoever knew that he had a family to feed and that perhaps their decision would not hold and also that he was taking it further and appealing recording calls etc would they not go down the route of damage limitation and make the payment/decision at the earliest opportunity??
I personally do not know but anything is possible0
