On a new healthy eating plan which means no dairy and no fat.
I have today made a dairy and fat free tea loaf, but am sure I will get fed up of this after a while.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Nigella Lawson's sponge drops http://www.krharvey.com/sponge_drops.htm are fat free though not particularly low calorie!
Low calorie jelly pots
Fruit!!!
Just did a quick google and there are loads of low fat baking recipes out there - can't see many fat free though. If you find any good low fat/fat free recipes, just replace any dairy with whatever substitute you use, soya or whatever.0 -
I could only think of fruit but that has been mentioned already.
The Vegan Thread and The Vegan Forum - not on here, a seperate website will list dairy free but not sure about fat free.
Sainsburys, Tesco's and Asda I'm sure do a list of vegan foods on their websites. I know you didn't ask for vegan foods but they will be dairy free if that helps.0 -

A completely no-fat diet sounds extremely UNhealthy to me -- Omega-3 and fatty acids are important nutrients, not to mention all the fat soluble vitamins your body needs. I hope you meant 'low fat' and not 'no fat'...
*Edited to add* Never mind. Have just seen your other post on the diet you're actually following, and it sounds like it's not 'no fat', just low in saturated fat. Ignore my waffling, but I still recommend the following:
Having said that, the BBC Good Food website has a few low-fat (some may be fat free) recipes, which could be worth a look. I can't post the link, as I'm too new but if you google 'bbc good food low fat desserts' it should bring up the site. There's a lychee and lime sorbet, which is fat-free and you might be able to adapt the recipe for other fruit.NSD May 1/150 -
I was going to recommend sorbets too! I found that soya milk or other milk substitutes work well in place of cows milk. so does ewes milk if you can get it!
I have made both rice puddings and custards for my dairy intolerant son with these. and substituted them for dairy in most recipes. soya margerine is available too for baking - tho I am not sure about the fat content as I never worried about that!0 -
Can't use soya or any diary free marg as I am following a very low sat fat diet.
Sorbets and milk pudding sound good, will look into them.
Was thinking more of biscuits and cakes!
Have managed to find a biscuit recipe, will give it a go.
I am following the 'overcomming multiple sclerosis diet'
Off to search BBC food.
Thanks for all your replies0 -
I seem to remember making a fatless sponge years ago! will have a look for the recipe for you. I do hope you are allowed eggs as I think it used a few of those!0
-
Only egg whites I'm afraid, so the sponge is out, my MIL used to make it0

If it's cake you're after, Allrecipes has a recipe for angel food cake which could be worth a look. No fat and egg whites only.NSD May 1/150

I don't really think there ARE many biscuits or cakes that are dairy free (as in, don't even need a dairy substitute) AND fat free!I think you may be seeking the impossible... You could do low fat dairy free or vegan recipes but I have yet to come across a biscuit or cake that is absolutely fat free and dairy free (trust me if I did, I would be thrilled, as I am allergic to dairy and I need to lose weight! :rotfl:)
Keep us posted though if you do find anything good0 -

I have this book and its great! I've only tried a couple of recipes so far but ingredients for a choc cake just as an example are flour, sugar, apple pur!e,egg white, cocoa powder and baking powder. You wouldn't imagine that would work......but it does! Different denser texture to the traditional bit still hits the mark for me!
Some recipes are low fat, others are virtually fat free. Mixture of all baking....scones,cake muffins and biscuits0
