Don't f'k with Mr. Montag - lawyer* to the oppressed.
*Please note Mr Montag has no legal experience, expertise or training , but can search google quite effectively.;)"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.0 -
:T I bloomin' love you Guy_Montag.0

Right - here's Mr. Montag's advice - please see disclaimer above.
Write a proper letter for the LL address - keep a copy.
If they reply saying blah blah data protection bo!!ocks. Great - don't pay that last months rent.
When they ask you for it, show them the Act shown above - tell them that you'll not prosecute them if they don't give you any more !!!!!!.
Everyone wins - they learn a legal lesson, you get out without paying you last month's rent, LL gets her rent in the form of your deposit.
Well something like that - did I mention the disclaimer above?"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.

I don't know, you might be better off just getting the LL's address & dealing with it that way."Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.

I rented our house out for nearly 3 years. On at least 2 occasions I didn't get my rent as the tenants standing order had run out and the agent never even noticed they hadn't been paid. First I knew about it was when I didn't get paid on the 15th, when the rent had been due from the tenants on the 1st. When I phoned the agent to chase why I hadn't been paid they just said 'has the tenant been late paying in the past?'!!!!
However as you seem to have been having issues with the agent it would appear unlikely they won't notice if you don't pay....Make £2025 in 2025

Right - an update.
I emailed my contact at the letting agency to quote the above clause.
I also wrote to them last week to tell them I wouldn't be re-painting the hallway or professionally cleaning anything as I feel this would be betterment but that I am fully aware of my obligations to leave the house in the condition it was let minus reasonable wear and tear.
Just had an email from a new contact at the agency to say that they are my landlord for the purpose of my contract and that the owner of the house is the 'superior landlord'. They have also said that they will be replying to my letter this week.
What now??0 -
Wait for the reply?Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0

Wait for the reply?
So, are they correct in that they don't need to give us the contact details for the superior landlord? They've never referred to her as that before - simply as 'the landlord'. I would like her address so that if we do have to go to a small claims court, I can serve papers on both of them.
The courts website says it needs details of the landlord and letting agency to make a claim.0
