Composite Door

This question is on behalf of my mum. She wants a new front door and has decided on composite in blue with a door knocker, spy hole, letterbox and chrome fittings. Unfortunately I don't know the size of the door but it is a normal front door. She has received her first quote this morning of £900 fitted. Does this seem fair?

By the way we are in Leicester in the East Midlands.

I was looking today on a few sites and all 4 quotes (secure by design)were around £900-00 fitted and £650-00 for supply only .It would take a Carpenter around half a day to fit so £100-00 ish so you could save some money on the fitting.The downside is if there are problems later they may say its down to poor fitting.

You or the Carpenter would need to measure the size needed.Measure the brickwork height and width (tight measurement) and deduct 10mm of height and width..

Most sites explain how to site survey ,but as to which are best value or good companies to deal with I wouldn't have a clue..
