Esure up for renewal, online quotes cheaper

I have been insured with Esure which is due for renewal 9th Jan. they have quoted me £167.80 for house and contents. On money supermarket Esure come up at £143with free emergency and legal cover.

As I can also get cash back from Quidco is it worth me cancelling my current Esure account and re-apply for their offer via Moneysupermarket or just phone them up and ask them to drop the price to match it ?

Thanks.

Worth a try. Doubt they will match the cashback you have found (have you done the quote via quidco as there have been posts saying that the price of some insurance via cashback sites reflects the cashback!)

i have had the same thing for 2 years. When I rang esure they said they could not price match but I could do the inline price on line which I have done. Disadvantage was I could not keep all my claim free years as they only offered a lower maximum years. I decided the lesser claim free period was ok and booked on line. _ don't know about quidco. Quidco oftern says the discounts are only for new customers .

Well your no claims are not exclusive to one company. You can have 10 years no claims after switching 10 companies.

I can't see why they would lose out on a sale for the sake of not matching. Usually they do that for you to keep a client.

    Cheers.

I think you will be able to keep your no claims discount.

House insurance works differently to motor and most do not require proof.

Many have a max of 5 years discount.

If the price is cheaper with fewer years ncd, what do you care!

Future insurers will ask how many claim free years and you can answer honestly to retain the discount.
