Nokia 610 On virgin

Is that right that this phone on the Virgin network doesnt support picture messaging. ??

That would make no sense at all. It's a 3G smartphone, and the Virgin network supports picture messaging.

well the Nokia 610 i have is new and when someone sends me a text message it says i need to go to a website to view / download a message.

May phone virgin...but not looking for ward to that

Select Nokia and then the 610 and it says my hadnset doesnt support MMS

just spoke to Virgin who confirm that picture messaging is NOT available for this handset ?

are you sure? I would have have thought it would just be a case of provisioning MMS on the sim/account. Before my sim on T-Mobile was provisioned (many years back) i too would receive a text with a web page and passcode.

"There is an option to set mms apn and its in the "diagnostics" app under "APN settings". However it appears that this became available only after the latest update so make sure you have updated the phone then install the diagnostics app by dialing ##634# in the dial pad"

think i am slighly annoyed by this and Virgins stance.

How can a modern day smartphone NOT be able to receive picture messages ? Is it not just madddess ?

Tried several calls to Virgin yesterday and could not get anyone to help me out.

In reference to the above message, i will try that. However would be willing to pay someone to help me do it ?/ Over the Phone ??

I have entered the ##634# into the keypad and cannot find "APN settings"..is it buried withing a menu somewhere ?

I purchased the phone about 2 weeks ago from CPW and if i go into setting it under the "Phone Update" setting it says no updates found. and i am runnig windows 7.5

not sure daz, was only drawing reference to other support forums. I use the nokia lumia 800 and my apn settings are setting > mobile networks > add apn
