Wireless range comparison

Is there any site that benchmarks the wireless range of cards/ usb dongles?

With all the energy devoted to laptop specs and the like, surely the signal strength of the wireless device would be up near the top of the list for the consumer.

Same with the router.

Same with phones.

From memory about the only site I can think of that does proper comparison testing for wireless devices is the rather handy smallnetbuilder, and they concentrate on Wireless routers* and access points, doing some very thorough testing on routers especially, with wireless being one of the things they check (both for throughput, and signal strength in various modes).

I don't think I've ever seen any real comparisons of the strength/reliability of the wireless signals for things like wireless cards/dongles, as most of the reviews of them seem to be done on the basis of "does it work around the office", as opposed to comparing them to a baseline using the same test methodology for every one (which is what's needed for a meaningful comparison).


*Including things like load testing them to see how they cope with a standard amount of data/number of connections at the same time (which is useful as some devices struggle if you've got a number of concurrent connections.)
