Dehumidifier is the best solution ime.

Sorry, I disagree. Dehumidifiers treat the end result not the cause.

Ventilation or heating needed, ventilation 1st.

Karcher window condensation vac is the tool to buy to remove it, great gadget
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

As does the Karcher window vac, treats the symptom not the cause........ No need for any tools if the cause of the condensation is addressed..........

OP, trickle vents are not needed ,just open the windows each morning. This will have the same effect as a trickle vent. Look into replacing the glass with double glazed units with Low E glass and gas filled either with Argon gas or Krypton (better). The space between the glass panes makes little difference with anything wider than 12mm so 4-12-4 units if they can be fitted into existing windows will work fine. Even 4-4-4 "slimlite" units filled with Krypton gas will make a considerable difference and these can be fitted in many existing windows. There are plenty of companies making 4-4-4 units so look into these.

Even with the best double/triple glazing you can still get a small amount of condensation which will evaporate if the windows are opened for a short time and on energy efficient glass units its common to get condensation on the outside of the glass which means the units are working correctly.

We are singing from the same hymn sheet,;);), the point was to fix the issue rather than treat the symptoms.
But in the meantime clean up with the window vac is a cheaper option than a dehumidifier.:D:D

Condensation on energy efficient glass is common only on the outside of the inside pane, this mean the units are doing their job and keeping the heat in. Most windows have a ventilation mode where you can open the windows slightly and they will still be securely locked but allow for some ventilation. I wouldn't advise trickle vents though as that would defy the objective of having energy efficient windows and doors

I'm sorry but viewing your signature, and the fact that googling it, either part, links to the same companies, smells of spam to me. Reported.

I don't know why you have reported the post. The guy is not trying to sell anything or promote his company.

He is giving advice and his signature shows that he has knowledge.

Condensation on energy efficient glass is common only on the outside of the inside pane..

Sorry fella but this is not correct.... Its common on the outside of the outside pane (outside of the window)........If it was on the "outside of the inside pane" as you posted then the condensation would be in between the panes.

PS:Its not MSE to put your company name in your signature its clearly promoting your company or spamming..

Are you a salesman?. Most professional window manufacturers would know on which pane of a sealed unit can get condensation when using Low E glass.

If you look at post 5 you can see Adam says he "lives close to Sureglaze" and was looking for some Aquamac 21 draught excluder... If you then look at his profile you can see his Homepage for his business takes you to "Sureglazes" website so he's gone from living near the business to working for or owning it.....

Spammers need to be a little more inventive than Adam ..:D
