Help Argos sneaked in obsolete item

Hi all,
I ordered a Miele s2111 in November via reserve and collect. I have just discovered it is a Miele 2110 (Not sold anywhere now except as old stock). Argos don't even sell this item so it is clear they've used me to get rid of old stock when I have paid for a newer model.I still have the email for r&c which clearly states S2111 but the box and vacuum cleaner clearly are S2110.
Can I get my money back/replacement, even thought it is past the 30 day guarantee period. I am furious at Argos but also at myself for not noticing sooner. I bought based on the reviews, but obviously have the wrong vacuum cleaner.

It is very unlikely they did this deliberately, someone just made a mistake - theres not a conspiracy to dump old stock on to you. What did Argos say when you asked them to return it for a swap to the correct item ?0

I would like to think that's the case but Argos are quite careful with stock control so I do suspect otherwise, but happy to learn differently. If they stocked both models I would probably agree.
They haven't had a chance to respond yet but I was wondering f I have a leg to stand on in case they try to tell me to suck it up.I'll have some cheese please, bob.0 -
Just to add to my info here, my receipt shows that I have paid for an S2111 model by the code. On the box of the vacuum cleaner, someone has scribbled out the argos cat no for the S2110 and hand writtern the S2111 code.
That's not a mistake :-OI'll have some cheese please, bob.0 -

Wonderful phrase given the item
Short version, you ordered and paid for one model and got another. At the very least you are entitled to a full refund for item not as described, though given the timeframe you may have a battle. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

Actually an Argos stockroom is a nightmare to work in trust me.
As someone else said this seems like a genuine mistake. The amount of times I mis-picked an item all it takes is to mix up two numbers and the customer ends up with a different product.
You have to quickly learn to read numbers upside down or sideways.
Just contact the store and ask them about an exchangeFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
Are you sure it is not an identical model made under a different number? Happens quite a lot with Argos, same product just made for a different retailer/ outlet.0

They should replace it but legally your are probably deemed to have accepted it0

They should replace it, its usually 30 days but if you say you got it as a christmas present, that could help.
We got a watch from there, opened the box on xmas day and there was no watch inside!! went back on boxing day, spoke to manager and got the watch and an apology. took less than 5 minutes. I'd go in store with it, talk to someone face to face.
Good luck, hope you get it sorted.0 -
The S2110 has a hepa filter and 11 filtration levels versus the S2111 with super air clean and only 9 filter levels.
So it looks as if the S2111 is a specced down version!0 -

that would make sense, they upgrade products when they run out of stock, it happened to me to get a better version of a small appliance0
