Hope i posted in the most relevant section.
Hoping someone can shed some light on my question, I am due to open a business fairly soon within the next couple of months, It will be a little cake shop/coffee house etc, where we will baking cakes on site for etc
My question is with regards to the oven, we intitially had quotes for a large range domestic oven, but i know a commercial oven would be alot more appropriate but after looking all commercial ovens seem to run on 3 phase electrics, we are in a residential area so would require single phase electrics
Is there any way round this? Or do I just bite the bullet and get a domestic ove, and some smaller convection ovens too
Thanks
Mark

It would depend on the installation. I understand that in some installations the three phase supply is available at the cable head but only one phase is used. If this is the case where you are you may be lucky. I would ask your electricity supplier for advice on this."Some folks are wise and some are otherwise." - Tobias Smollett0

I would suggest if you are looking to install a number of ovens that you need to get a local electrician on board to ensure the wiring in the property is sufficient for the proposed electrical load.
He could also then visually check the incoming supply to see if it is 3 phase or not.0 -
As above, sometimes there is a 3phase supply. You need to check the incoming supply rating anyway, as if you only have a single phase and are planning on using a few ovens at the same time the supply may be too small.0
