I'd always just go ahead and enter it. I've won blu-rays before and I don't have a blu-ray player but they go to my Mum who does. If I won a completely unwanted runner up prize I'd just sell it or donate it x

I only enter if I want the prize (or I can pass it on to a family member). Runner-up prizes I have won which have been no use I do one of a few things;
Put it up on the swap group on facebook - swapped a few things for presents
See if any of my close friends could use the item
Give it to my daughter's school for a raffle prize / something else
At a very last resort I sell and put the money towards something else.

I've won a 3DS game as a runners-up prize where the 1st prize was a 3DS console - good job I was planning on getting my girls one for Christmas last year anyway :rotfl:
