Believe it or not guys SSE are one of the best companies on the market with only 800 energywatch complaints compared to BG 21,000+. If you read the small print from most major suppliers, you will see similar things happening. There would be a very small chance of Energywatch getting involved with this because SSE are doing nothing illegally.
As most of you have found out, you have received the difference back to the bills as a discount or adjustment to account. Problem solved0 -
I am chasing Southern Electric for my reductions. My bills came in on 20th May. I have rung and sent emails with the usual standard replies back. It has taken a week so far and they came out with the usual pro rata blah blah blah. I have asked for it now to be dealt with by the manager. Lets see what happens.0

Problem solved only for those who are astute enough to discover they are being ripped off and take the trouble to chase SSE.
What about the vast majority who do not notice the scam? If they admit it is unfair by giving those who complain their refund, why don't they apply it across their customer base?
The practice SSE have adopted is disgraceful. The much slated BG had 2 price reductions on March 12 and April 26 and managed to estimate a pro-rata consumption on those dates. Just think of the outcry if BG had acted in the same way as SSE.
P.S. What other major suppliers other than SSE group companies - Atlantic etc - have had 'similar things happen'?0
