    Hi Pigletpooh,

I would show her the two articles someone kindly posted on this thread if not the whole thread itself. If she is still dead set on continuing with her antics then at least you'll know you've done your best to warn her of the repercusions she will face and will have nothing to reproach yourself for when the inevitable does happen and she is caught. I would hope she's not stupid enough to continue with her so-called "business" but since she was stupid enough to begin doing it in the first place I wouln't be too sure on that one. She should think about how she would feel is someone scammed her or her kids like this - it's appallingly selfish. Good luck in trying to get her to see sense.

    Regards

    Michelle

There's also the concern of never being sure who you are selling to and an annoyed customer may come round and have a 'word' with your friend.

thats whats triggered this to be honest. My OH's brother purchased a faulty mobile (£300 nokia~) from ebay a month ago, the seller lives about 30 miles away, the seller wouldn't speak to him once the sale was completed so my OH and his brother went round for a "word" at the weekend. they're both proffessional guys who wear suits to work but theyre over 6 foot so I think they were slightly intimidating. needless to say he took his phone back and refunded, he said hed been away and not getting the messages and was apologetic:rolleyes: , my OH said to me "maybe you should tell XXXXXXXX about this as she doesnt know who could turn up at the door" and since then ive been worrying about it. at the end of the day though its nothing to do with me i suppose all i can do is advise!

You say she has a hospital job. This will be dependant on CRB checks so she will inevitably lose it if this comes to light. I also really hope it is not a nursing/care assistant job as the loss of trust will ruin her regardless of any prosecution.

She is also making money from other peoples misfortune which is just plain wrong. Inform her of all this. If she chooses to ignore you I would question what sort of person she really is.

As said, if you work in the health care sector - carer, nurse, doctor, etc.... you can't work if you have a criminal record. They do background checks periodicaly so it is something that can not be swept under the rug.

My advice would be for you to have a word with her. Let her know, that she is putting her job, and basicly part of her life on the line for this.

The problem is greed. She knows she is on to something good - and is earning thousands because of this, but at the same time, she is going past the point of stopping.

It is like gambling - you put money on a horse, and it wins, you put all the winnings on another, and it wins, and you keep going, untill one day, your horse loses, and you lose everything.
Never do things tomorow when you can do them today.

I'm in a similar situation myself but not with someone selling on Ebay, this guy I have the disadvantage of knowing ,a total AR**HOLE who tried to sexually assult me once ( but my right knee helped me out in this situation ) He knows someone who works for the company that make the wristbands for music festivals and he pays them a small sum of money to make extra ones for him to sell privately and illegally, I have been approached by someone saying that he can sell me a wristband for a certain festival for £60 ( the tickets sold for £105 ) , I have bought my tickets for this sell out festival legally and above board and have done so for the past 5 years and I would'nt do it any other way. I am currently wondering if to send an anon letter to the promoters of the festival and tipping them off on the situation about the extra wristbands being made. AR**HOLE has ordered about 300 of them this year ( No wonder he can afford 4 foreign holidays a year ) I feel he is ripping off the bands, the organisers, promotors etc, I expect all these people apart from the smaller bands have more money then him but that is'nt the point plus there is health and safety aspect. The organisers have to limit the numbers for this reason and then an extra 300 people turn up and enter the venue illegally. ( At least 300, there is of course the possibility that the person making the extra wristbands is selling extra on to more then one guy ). So would you reckon sending the anon letter or not or would I be like a total !!!!! in grassing up the situation ?
