Removal Costs - no idea!

Hi,

Currently trying to budget on removal costs and can't seem to get any sense out of the firms I've spoken too!

Living in a 1 bed flat in central London (not loads of furniture but too much stuff by far to do it ourselves) and moving about 2 hours to Kent. Anyone have any idea on what I should budget for removal costs?

As always, your help is very much appreciated!

i would estimate around £700-£900 ish.... but that really is just a guess. I had a quote of £900 ish for a two bed going 40 miles ish.

I have also had a quote of around £200 for a large truck with tail lift, add in all the free labour from family and friends etc....

Mine was about £800 for move (plus packing) going from 1 bed flat (plus a lot extra at my Mum's next door!) to a 3 bed house 20 miles away.
  • I got a quote from a local company for £350, and an extra £50 for packing when I looked into it (1 bed flat). Pickfords quoted £600. In the end I decided to hire a van for 2 days for £60 and feed various friends lots of coffee.
