DFW meet... how many can do Blackpool?

    Just had this PM from someone on MSE who's stayed in blackpool and thought it would be of use to those who are coming from a long way...
    Hi Sarah,

    I see that you are havign a Blackpool meet? Are people staying over?

    In March I met up with approx 20 - 25 people from another forum, and we stayed at the Glenshee Hotel in Blackpool. We got a good deal, £35 each for dinner bed and breakfast. They have plenty of twin rooms, the food was edible, breakfast fantastic, the bar staff vv accomodating (imagine 20 drunken Avon ladies!and young men) with the bar staying open til the last person dropped ( I went at bed about 3.30) bar prices were reasonable. Rooms are clean but basic!

    That sounds like proper Blackpool hospitality IA! I think what I might do is bring hubby and the kids (ooh, that sounds weird), but then hubby might whisk them off to bed so I can stay and have a drink or three (will have to check if he would want to do this, but as he wont know anyone, he would probably be happier that way anyway). Or I could leave them with my Mum and Dad who live about 2 hours away on an easy train route.
