DFW meet... how many can do Blackpool?

I am quite happy to give lifts to anyone who is in the middle. As long as they are not perverted. So thats a few names off the list!

I am quite happy to stay in the glenshees! as long as there are no avon ladies still in residence.

I am quite happy to go during the day and then boogie on down with lenny down the old tower ballroom.

and I am quite happy to go to both North and South. See you there then Tigz!

I haven't decided if I'll be driving or training it yet.. but either way if anyone wants a companion or a lift just let me know!

This is part of my point of view. It's why when people have been offering places to go - I've been asking "What are the attractions?" Blackpool has a long sea-front, shows, amusements, roller coasters and donkeys...lots of donkeys...

I would much prefer to spend the evening in some sort of eatery, than just in a boozer. Might not be possible - but it would be nice.

If we want "watering holes" - we could just go to Milton Keynes...

Well, if it was 1st September, I could probably make it. And if some of you think you have far to travel, take a look at where I'm coming from!

Thing is, if my Aussie visa is settled in a couple of months, I'll be booking my flights back to england to visit folks, so I should be there then.

As for Blackpool, sounds like a great place for a meet. But in true MSE style, 35 quid for a night in a hotel there is a bit much. In September you can find cheaper.

If not a B&B, there's a premier travel inn in Blackpool, it's pretty good, I've stayed there before. And even without any discount it's 48 quid for the night... so if you room share it would be cheaper. The bonus with them is they accept leisure vouchers... which you can get free from pigsback.

Also there's a deep pan pizza company in Blackpool, they offer a pizza, pasta, salad buffet that's pretty good and pretty cheap. There's also of course pizza hut, who again (in most branches) accept leisure vouchers. Heck, as I also recall there's a small italian restaurant called mammas which offers a damned good 3 course lunch special. In short, we can do it pretty cheaply.

Now, if you guys had suggested a trip to Morecambe, my old home of a seaside town, I could have done better than this (I know a few hoteliers there).

And also, I'd be much more in for a lunchish/daytime meet. Cos I'll be on the bus.
